Engineers and Geoscientists of BC is in the process of creating its first Climate Change Action Plan that will give the organization an appropriate and methodical approach to addressing climate change issues related to the practice of professional engineering and geoscience.

This plan will provide a framework for how Engineers and Geoscientists BC can better support its registrants in their professional practice, and allow Engineers and Geoscientists BC to respond to climate change issues proactively rather than reactively.

To ensure this action plan is flexible, scalable, and responsive to the breadth of professional practice of registrants, an engagement process is underway to gather feedback and input into the plan from a wide range of stakeholders.

To help frame the engagement process, a Discussion Paper has been developed to solicit views and opinions to inform the objectives, scope, and content of the action plan. Stakeholders who would like to submit their views and comments on the Discussion Paper are invited to do so until Monday, June 1, 2020. For more information, visit the Engineers and Geoscientists of BC’s website.
