Climate Change Adaptation: Linkages with Social Policy

This report for the federal Policy Research Initiative outlines threats and opportunities posed by climate change for social policy and outlines pathways forward.

Using a scan of literature from around the world including adaptation plans and actions in progress by all levels of government, this report summarizes the implications of climate change for social policy in Canada, including programs related to health and safety. The findings posit issues that limit adaptive capacity, identify adaptation policies currently in place as well as selected international responses, and offer preliminary recommendations for action.
