Registration is now open for the National and Regional Freshwater Policy Forums as art of the Government of Canada’s commitment to the creation of the Canada Water Agency.

The National Freshwater Policy Forum will take place from January 27-28, 2021, (11:00-16:10 ET) and will involve discussion of key freshwater issues and opportunities identified in the Discussion Paper “Toward the Creation of a Canada Water Agency,” released by the Government of Canada in December 2020. The Forum will provide an opportunity to hear from leading experts, practitioners, and knowledge holders who are involved in managing and protecting freshwater about the greatest opportunities to improve freshwater management through the creation of a Canada Water Agency.

Six Regional Freshwater Forums have also been set up, and will focus on the areas of the Atlantic, Quebec, Ontario, Norther Canada, British Columbia, and the Prairies,. These region-specific forums will address the unique freshwater issues of each area, and will provide an opportunity for participants to discuss their thoughts on opportunities to improve freshwater management through the creation of a Canada Water Agency.
