On October 18th 2021 from 9:30-11:30am PST, join the POLIS Project on Ecological Governance and Watersheds BC for a free virtual webinar on an introduction to the Healthy Watersheds Initiative Regional Monitoring Cohort and best practices for collaborative regional water monitoring groups.

From the organizers:

“Participants will gain knowledge and insights about storing, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting monitoring information so that it is trusted by decision-makers and can be used in land and water planning and decision-making. This includes statutory and non-statutory applications by local, provincial, federal, and Indigenous governments, industries, environmental non-government organizations, and individuals.”

This discussion will include an introduction to the Collaborative Monitoring Initiative, descriptions of water data management systems of various scales, a panel discussion on necessary improvements in community-based monitoring data management, and time for a Q&A.
