ACT’s Executive Director Deborah Harford will speak on local government action on low carbon resilience (LCR) at this year’s virtual Window on Ottawa, which is being held in conjunction with the 2020 Canadian Water Summit on June 11, 2020.

Moderated by Hiran Sandanayake, chair of the Canadian Water and Wastewater Association (CWWA)’s Climate Change Committee, the session will explore whether Canadian municipalities are taking enough action on climate change, highlight what is currently being done, provide examples of roadblocks that municipalities have run into, and how integrated climate planning may help to increase capacity and uptake of long-term resilience measures.

Hiran Sandanayake, chair of the Canadian Water and Wastewater Association’s (CWWA) Climate Change Committee, and Deborah Harford, Executive Director, ACT, Faculty of Environment, SFU
