Long-term climate targets are difficult to achieve. Accountability measures can clarify pathways and progress toward these far-off goals.
The Canadian Institute for Climate Choices has produced a new report for policy-makers, titled: Marking the Way: How legislating climate milestones clarifies pathways to long-term goals.
The report examines international and domestic examples of climate accountability frameworks, identifies common elements and best practices, and offers recommendations for their implementation in the Canadian context.
ACT Executive Director, Deborah Harford, is a member of the Expert Adaptation Panel for the CCIC.
