The Adaptation Learning Network at Royal Roads University has announced an exciting suite of courses available for 2021. Courses are intended for environmental professionals, and topics range from food and water security to civic engagement for climate adaptation.

Three courses beginning soon include:

The Financial Impact of Climate Change

Lead by Todd Thexton (Assistant Professor and Director of the School of Business at Royal Roads University), this four-week course introduces participants to the financial risks and impacts associated with climate change. Participants will explore a range of risk pathways that link climate and economic systems

Project Management for a Changing Climate

Lead by Susan Todd (CPA, CA, MRM, President of Solstice Sustainability Works), this course is intended for project managers who, through their effective direction of complex projects, occupy a critical role in the successful transition to a resilient, low carbon world. This course is designed to prepare professionals with project management responsibilities to add a climate change lens to their projects.

Green Infrastructure in Urban Centres: Policy, Design, and Practice

Facilitated by Melina Scholefield (P. Eng. Manager, Green Infrastructure Implementation City of Vancouver), this 30 hour, twelve week online course is for policy makers, professionals, and students seeking to understand green infrastructure (GI) and its potential for managing the impacts of urbanization and climate change. The aim of the course is to foster a network of professionals engaged with the challenges and opportunities of blending nature and infrastructure.
